Verified Purchase Picked this up for my hyundai Ioniq 5, and it’s been really great. I use a Pixel 8 and my wife has an iPhone 15. We tested both Android Auto and CarPlay wirelessly, and both connected without any issues. No weird setup. Just plug it into the USB port, wait a few seconds, hit the Android or CarPlay button, and you’re good to go.
One of the unexpected bonuses is that it runs Android apps directly. I was able to launch YouTube, Plex and Netflix right on the screen, which is perfect for when I’m stuck in the car. Whether I’m charging or waiting on my kids at practice, it’s nice to just stream something and relax. Streaming quality was great with no lag or buffering. I also tested playing video from a USB stick, and that worked perfectly too.
Switching between Android Auto, the built-in Android system, and the car’s interface is really smooth. You just tap the icons to jump between them, and everything responds quickly.
The wireless connection is a big convenience. I don’t have to mess with cables every time I get in the car. It just connects automatically, which makes rapid trips a lot less of a hassle. I love my Ioniq 5 and how high-tech it feels, but needing to plug in a phone to use Android Auto or CarPlay always felt like a weird step backward.This solves that.
I’ve tried a few wireless adapters before, but they were either laggy or wouldn’t connect reliably. This one just works. It’s small too,and once it’s plugged in,it disappears into the center cubby of the car.
If your car only supports wired CarPlay or Android Auto, and you’re tired of dealing with cables, this is definitely worth picking up.
